Abstract

2025 Gawat Darurat

Background: Triage services in the Emergency Department (ED) play a vital role in determining the priority of patient care based on the severity of their condition. Research Objective: This study aims to describe the level of knowledge and the implementation of triage by nurses in the Emergency Department of RSU Aminah, Blitar City.Research Methods: This descriptive quantitative study used a total sampling approach, involving all nurses working in the ED as respondents. Data collection was conducted through structured questionnaires covering aspects of triage knowledge and practice, as well as direct observation of triage implementation based on standard operating procedures (SOPs). Research Results: The findings revealed that all respondents (100%) demonstrated a high level of knowledge regarding triage. However, the implementation level was moderate (83%). Variations in compliance with triage SOPs were observed, potentially influenced by factors such as the nurses’ educational background and
the rotation work system. Conclusion: Although triage knowledge among nurses is at an optimal level, its implementation still requires ongoing evaluation and training to ensure the effectiveness of emergency services. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for the development of training programs and quality improvement efforts in ED services through enhanced triage competencies among nurses.
